Good, Bad or Ugly-Working with Others
While working with a partners you get lots of benefits for your self and your partner. One benefit is that you don't have to do as much work, which saves lots of time and you don't stress out as much. Another is that you get practice on your editing part of your writing skills, because you should be editing each others work. You also learn to see in other perspectives. When working with a partner you will write about other passages, connections and questions. While you are editing each others work you will read about different parts of the book in different perspectives you will probably not recognize. You will learn to see those parts of the book in the way your partner has seen them. You will realize when you are working with a partner you will come across some challenges or obstacles that you will have to face some point or another. In my case it was starting our lit circle on time and turning it in on time. Unfortunately that was one skill both of us were not the best on. We both needed some improvement on that skill. Both my partner and I started reading our book a little to late and then the planed schedule didn't go as the both of us hoped.
Like I mentioned before, seeing the same passage in a different perspective is one fantastic way to understand the novel even better than you did the first time you read it. My partner helped me see the important side of a passage when I strongly thought it was worthless to the chapter in the book Thunder Cave. I'm sure we both helped each other in some ways, but this way my partner really helped me and I hope that I helped him in some way identical to this way.

In my discussion with my group I discovered that it helps to hear perspectives from other people instead of just my own perspective. When you hear the same story in a different way it helps you think about the story you are reading. In this case hearing my peers perspectives opened a new portal for me to think through. Another thing that helped me understand the novel better was when they each gave evidence and their own opinions on passages I hadn't paid attention to. My peers made those passages stand out in a unfamiliar way to me. While reading those passages they gave examples and evidence from our book, Thunder Cave, to prove themselves right. This discussion helped me understand the novel we are reading much better than reading this individually.
2. Connections that you made during your discussion
I made connections to other people's discussion's and to the book. We connected with each others writing and sometimes disagreed on these types of things. Disagreeing and agreeing also helped us expand our writing. We all thought we learnt something about each others passages and connections and questions. We all tried to connect on each others passages they wrote to share with our groups.
3. Predictions
In our group we made predictions before we found out the answered. For example when we read our questions we always predicted all that we thought about that question before finding out our answers. Sometimes we would predict what the other was about to say on the passages or what each others questions are. I also predicted on my own while reading, I would read one chapter and then predict what would happen in the next one. I think me and my group predicted what would happen very well.

Why is it that Australia and New Zealand become technologically advanced and wealthy?
Australia and New Zealand are more advanced then Papua New Guinea due to these reasons. Unlike Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand both are much more united to the world. Because Papua New Guinea doesn't have very rich resources, no one from the outside world want's anything from them. Because Papua New Guinea didn't have the best resources no one from the outside world came to their land to trade/get anything.
Australia and New Zealand were more connected to the outer world then Papua New Guinea. In the earlier times Europe's dungeons had been getting overloaded with people. Europe needed a place to keep the prisoners. They had heard about Australia from other travelers and the many wonderful resources they had, and decided they would go to Australia. The reason they wanted to go to Australia was because firstly they needed a place to put the prisoners and secondly get some resources from Australia. Europe didn't choose Papua New Guinea because it didn't have the best resources, and because, the local Papua New Guineans were black. The world was color racist at that time. Along with all that, because the Papua New Guineans weren't united they didn't get the experience to see other countries creations. That then didn't bring them forward.
The other reason why Papua New Guinea was less advanced then Australia and New Zealand was because the riches were good. Many different countries came to Australia and New Zealand because the riches were wonderful. They didn't go to Papua New Guinea because obviously their resources weren't as good. Australia and New Zealand then became more popular and while becoming more popular they got new resources from other countries in the world. Another thing that Papua didn't have was good animals to trade. One recourse that the Papua New Guineans had was fish lumber, coconut/palms which I don't think anyone would go so far to get.
All this was why Australia and New Zealand were more wealthy and technologically advanced than Papua New Guineans.

My Alive Nightmare
The first "Squish!" and "Stomp!" I heard I knew they were back. This was going to be a long terrible day. Even if the giants were here to help the ecosystem and plant a mangrove tree, they would hurt us! Last time the giants kept on collapsing on us mud skippers, and so what if the mud was a little bit slipery for them... they could've gotten me killed! I bet they atleast got one of us killed last time. If they were to come again, hopefully this group woudn't be so clumsy and blind, coudn't they think of the precious mud as if it were their home?
They stomped through the mud as if large elephants. Only after there first few steps I could tell that they would destroy my day. Just like me all the other mud skippers and crabs tryed to avoid the giants. We just couldn't avoid them, especally when they were such space hoggers! When I tryed to escape feet apeared in every dicertion I looked. When the giant's saw us they screamed and shouted "mud skipper!!!" There such scardy cats! even I'm not so scared... And plus I'm much smaller than them and there still screaming at us. To tell the truth I think us mud skippers should be the ones screaming at them! My whole morning was all this commotion and panicking. But this was only the morning! For the whole day I had been running away and panicking. After a long day of this I thought all the giants had dispeard, It turns only most of them did...
At Later that day I was just cooling off, walking around finding a spot, doing my thing when I by accidently walked on to a living breathing thing that was very comftrable. The thing was and soft and a little bit muddy, but mostly a darker shade than the mud in color. I had just gotten on when it started to move! up, Up, UP it went! So high I felt like I could touch the light blue sky from up there! I was afriad I just stay put for a little while.
"HHHAAAAA!!!! You have a mudskipper in your hair!" a sharp shrill awoken me from my deep sleep. So many giant's were staring at me! Some where whispering to other giants, some had there mouth's open and coudn't get there eyes of me. I knew I was butiful, but that was just mean! I had never experianced a horrible tragety like this. A huge person (one that was bigger than the other smaller ones) picked me up by my tail and swung me back in to the mud, by my tail! "aawwtttccchhhiii!" that hurt! I learned that the giants are very mean and that it's time to start looking for a new home.

My Bulling Day
First of all I want to get this strait, every one makes mistakes. At least once in your life you have made a mistake, right? Well my mistake was a very big one, (to me) so here's my story...
You know how there can never be a odd number of girls in a group? How they just exclude and ignore each other? Well thats what happened in my story...
I was having a sleepover with my two friends (friend 1 and friend 2) at friend 1s house, Now they were both really close friends so I was planing on not messing anything up with any of them. I had sleep overs before with three friends and new that it was hard to keep things organized. While my mom was driving me to friend 1s house I was thinking about how to keep things together and not let things slip out of hand. Unfortunately, things didn't go as my plan. When I got to friend 1's house friend 2 wasn't there yet, friend 1's mom and my mom talked for some time while friend 1 and I went inside and started playing. After a little while when my mom had gone, the doorbell rang! It was friend 2. Of coarse we first got all exited, and then whispered "lets play a prank on her and hide in the closet." Friend 1's mom answered the door and shouted to friend 1 and I "Friend 2's here!" She told friend 2 we would be in friend 1's room. Friend 2 entered the room and shouted for us. We were giggling and laughing, but she didn't hear us even when we did that. She started searching for us, soon we got tired of staying in the closet and came out to find friend 2 disappointed and frightened. But that was only the little start of us excluding friend 2. We walked ahead of her in the park, we only talked to each other, instead of facing friend 2 as well as friend 1 at the same time we only faced each other, we gossiped about her all night long, and so many more things I can't name them all!
If I were to take some years back and step into those shoes again I wouldn't have come to the sleepover in the first place, since I new there was going to be and odd number. If it were my first sleepover I wouldn't have hide in the closet in the first place, that's what started the whole thing excluding thing.
One goal I have this year is that if I see any bulling going on I go and either tell a teacher or stand up for the innocent people that are being bullied. Another goal I have for this year is if I hear any rumors or gossips that I know are not true I stop them.

My Courage Day
I've showed courage many time's and in many ways, but one of my favorite times was very recently in my Hari Raya break in 2010. Here's my story...
My family had gone on a vacation to a beach resort near Langkawi in Malaysia called Taj (the island was Berak) My dad, sister and i decited to go scuba diving leaving my brother and my mom at the resort. We left the island where we stayed with a small boat, toke a can to a deck where we waited and rested there for a bigger air conditioned boat that would take us near a small island. We would stay in the boat on the water. This is the part where my courage kicked in...
The instructors had divided the people who had there licence in diving and who were doing a intro dive. Unlike my my dad and sister already had their licence in diving , so we weren't supposed to dive together, luckily the instructors let us dive together . The instructor just was by my side. There are 4-5 divers in one group, so my sister, dad, the instructor and I all dived together as a group. Our plan for the day was 20-35 mins dive before lunch then for the licensed divers another dive after lunch. We had lunch at the small beach part on the island. If i was good enough on the first dive then I could go on the second dive after lunch as well as the first one. There were many people on the boat but most of them were doing snorkeling.
Now this toke lots of courage because not only was this my first time diving, I was also the youngest diver from all that were doing diving and Intro diving. Not only did those things scare me but four out of six grown ups canceled their dive because they were to scared. They ended up doing snorkeling. But in the end it was all worth it, I'm putting scuba diving on my To Do list. :)

What do Artifacts Tell us about the lives of early humans?
Artifacts can tell us many things about the lives of early humans. For example a spear can mean the hominid who owned it loved to hunt. Or an archeologist who found a pot might have found out that the hominid that owned the pot liked to cook. Artifacts tell us about the culture of hominids. Artifacts also lead us to discover what hominids did at their time, and they help us uncover mysteries about their lives.
My group and I got a picture of a horse carved onto a spear, we guessed that the spear was made by a very experienced lady, for a man to go and kill animals with. It looked very well used and sharp and a little burnt so I'm guessing the spear was very helpful to the owners who used it.We were being kind of like archeologists when we were making all those predictions and observations.

Geographer
Have you ever wondered who makes the geographical maps of the world? Or who gives out the information about weather patterns? Or how animals adapt to particular environments? Well, I have. That is the kind of work that physical geographers do. I think this would be a very fascinating job.
Ever since I have been a baby I have been traveling all over the world. I have lived in different parts of the United States and as the country is very large, the geography is different in different parts of the country. It is cold in some parts of the country in the winter time, and it is hot and humid in other parts of the country most of the year. Geography also varies from place to place. Ethiopia is a little bit like Malaysia hot all year round. But unlike Malaysia it is dry, not humid. In Ethiopia there are animals like goats and cows walking on the street. I've also lived in Sweden which is part of Northern Europe. Winter lasts long, and animals have adapted to the environment. I think it would be very much fun to travel back to these places and study more seriously the details of these different environments.
The reasons I think I would be good as a physical geographer are several. I love to study details, and I like to work with detailed things like maps. I love to investigate things closer. I have also traveled for my whole life so I'm familiar with the world map and love finding new places on maps. And lastly, I would be very excited to do this kind of work and it would make me happy.
